Obituary

Aaron Michael Phillips Jr., known to many as Junior, son of Leazer E. Rogers and Aaron M. Phillips, was born on August 21, 1956 in Baltimore Maryland. He departed this life on December 4, 2016 after dealing with lengthy illnesses.

He received his education in the public schools system. After school he became interested in cooking and found employment at Johns Hopkins as a cook. He loved to cook and took pride in his craft. He joined the Lanvale St. Civic Association and would cook and do grilling for his community and became famous for his potato salad and mac and cheese. Aaron loved attending church activities through St. Edwards Church. He also ran errands for the elderly who were unable to do them. He would pitch in to help clean up the neighborhood when the city workers came around on cleanup days.

Aaron loved to listen to music(his oldies) and boy could he dance back in the day. He loved to dress to look good all the time. He spent many a day sitting with his best friend Mr. James. He had a way with kids and just loved them. He babysat everyone of his nieces and his nephews and recently would walk some of the neighborhood kids to and from school. He enjoyed so much being his sister Judy's road partner for trips to the Mountains, DC, Cowtown, Dutch Market and the Casinos.

Aaron made numerous friends wherever he went and will be sincerely missed by all, especially his sister friend for several years Arleaver Bell. She really looked out for him and the family appreciates her.

He leaves to mourn: his mother, Leazer Rogers; sisters, Julia, Monica, Maria; his closest dearest friend, Arleaver Bell (Sissy) nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
