Obituary

Addison Lamont Smith Sr, affectionately known as "Mannie or Smitty (just like
his dad) entered this world on December 16, 1955 in Easton, MD born to the late
Mary Lorraine (Rainey) Anderson and Enoch Addison (Smitty) Smith. On Monday,
March 14, 2016 he gained his wings and was granted access thru the
Heavenly Gates, is what he often wished for to be with his mom.

Mannie was educated in the public school in Queens Annes County, MD. He
studied in the Distribution Club of America and graduated receiving his Diploma
in 1973. His 1 st job after High School was a Brick Layer Helper, a Waterman (just
like his dad), a St. Mary's Seafood Truck Driver (just like his dad) and a Barber
(just like his dad).

His all time passion was "Playing the Drums". His favorite song was "Cosmic
Slop" by George Clinton and The Funkadelics, and his favorite artist was Stevie
Wonder. His fondest memories were Singing and Playing the drums in church,
attending Sunday School at Robinson A.M.E. Church and planting tomatoes with
his mom. He also enjoyed working on the boat with his dad as a child, playing
basketball in the Summertime, having a loving mother and dedicated daughter he
called "Suzie Lucille Booze".

Addison was a resident of Miami, Florida from 1999-2011 in a common law
companionship with Mary Ann Porteguese. After recovering from a stroke, he
decided to relocate back to Maryland from the Southern Comfort State of Florida
to be closer to his family. After being back home in Maryland for the past 5 years
his life been filled with Love, Joy, Peace, Fun, Laughter and Happiness. He
enjoyed the time spent with his children, grandchildren and all the family dinners
and birthdays he was blessed to have shared with us. He also spent the last 5
months with his friend/soulmate, Ms. Dottie Henry, who filled his last months,
weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds comforting him, cooking for him and
keeping a smile on his face. For the last two years his home nurse aid Yvonne
Folks too great care of him in the comfort of his own apartment.

He leaves to cherish his memories: (1) daughter, Tierra Latoya Smith; son-in-law,
Leroy Williams; (1) son, Addison Lamont Smith Jr.;(2) stepdaughters, Tracey and
Nicole Briscoe; (5) grandsons Dewanta, Dewarn, Antwon, Addison Lamont 3rd,
.and Lamont Addison; (3) granddaughters, Ashley, India and Anna Marie; (1)
sister Paula Dickerson; (2) brothers, Corey and Emmanuel Smith; (1) niece
Kimberly Pauls; (1) nephew, Marcus Dickerson; brother-in-law Alonzo Dickerson;
a lifetime friend for 32 yrs Annette (Annie Mae) Matthews; best friends,
Warren Matthews and Michael Broadway and a host of great nieces, great nephews,
cousins and friends.
