The lovely Agnes Darden, daughter of the late Amos and Annie Cummings

was born April 24, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland. After a lengthy illness, she

departed her earthly home on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.

Agnes lived in Baltimore City and was educated in the Baltimore City

Public School System. Agnes was employed in retail services i.e. Stuarts

Department Store, Montgomery Ward, Princess Shop, and Super Kids.

She retired in 2000.

Agnes had a fetish for shoes and loved to dress which earned her nicknames

like "Miss Diva" and "Snazzy Lady." Agnes was caring and kind and

always willing to help others. Her home, heart and kitchen were open to

anyone in need. Not only did Agnes raise her daughter Pumpkin, she also

raised her niece Flossy and granddaughter Tia as her own. On June 24,

, . 1973 Agnes married the love of her life Charles Darden.

Agnes was an avid reader. She enjoyed listening to music, watching murder

mystery shows and western movies. She lived for good company, good

food, and good times.

Early on in life, Agnes found God and built a spiritual foundation. She was

baptized at New Friendship Baptist Church where she and her husband

attended. They later joined and attended Progressive First Baptist Church.

Agnes was preceded in death by her sister, Annabelle Cummings and four

brothers, Cornelius, Thomas, Raymond and Amos Cummings.

To cherish her memory and celebrate her triumphs, Agnes leaves to mourn:

her devoted husband, Charles Darden; her daughter, Anna Cromwell

(pumpkin); her granddaughter, Tia Lyles; son-in-law, Dwight; nieces, Helen

St. Rose, Robert Cummings, Timothy Cummings; extended nieces,

and friends.
