Albert Mckenny Sr., son of the late Leon McKenny and Bertha Walker, was born on July 7, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland. On Wednesday evening July 1, 2009, God called him to rest after a lengthy illness. "Sunny," as he was affectionately known, loved life itself. At an early age he left school to take care of his family. He was truly a family man. He worked at Roisters Fertilizing Company for eight years. He was then employed at Atotech USA formerly M&T Chemicals, from which he retired after thirty-seven years. Fifty years ago Albert met and married Ida Lesane, and out of that union eight children were born. He leaves to cherish his memory: four sons, Albert Mckenny Jr., Michael Mckenny, Timothy Mckenny and Joseph Mckenny; three daughters, Juanita Williams, Patrica McKenny and Cynthia Skeens; brother, George Pete McKenny; five grandchildren, Kevin, Joseph, Donte, Crystal and Eugenia; three great-grandchildren, Shania, NaKiyah and Marvin; son-in-law, Thelonius Skeens; daughter-in-law, Henrietta Scarborough; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His oldest son and three sisters preceded him in death: Larry Mckenny, Hester Prince, Leola Bea McKenny, and Rosie Mckenny. In his later years, his favorite pasttime was watching westerns. Albert will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
