Obituary

Albert Edward Samuel, Sr., ws born March 13, 1937 in Sanford, N.C. to the late Louis and Sallie Samuel. Albert accepted Christ early in his life and was baptized at the St. Pentecost Holiness Church, Baltimore, Maryland. Albert was educated in the Baltimore Public Schools and graduated from Carver Sr. High School. Albert married the Love of his Life the former Fannie Mae Marshall on August 22, 1962, Baltimore, Maryland. Albert worked at Bethlehem Steel for many years from which he retired. Albert "Einstein", as he was lovingly called by his family, could talk on numerous subjects. He would debate you on just about anything, politics, social issues, finances, food growing it or cooking it, and so many other subjects we cannot begin to mention... He was always right, as he would often express with the signature of his Daughter-in-law Cheryl...except one time....right Dawn. Albert loved to cook and would fry or smoke turkeys for the family and friends for the holidays or for anyday that someone would request one. At many family outings Albert was the grill man, making sure the food was cooked right and cooked well, because Albert was the expert and Albert was always right. Albert was a handyman, and could and ould fix anything that would be needed to be fixed if you could wait for him to fix it,,, but if you asked him more than once...you waited...for his time...Sometimes you waited a very long time. So it was best just to ask once! Albert had a Green Thumb and loved working in his community garden growing plants and vegetables. He always made sure his family had fresh fruits and vegetables, and never bought his family junk food...when they asked for chips he gave them an orange, they asked for candy he gave them vegetables. Albert "Einstein" understood the nutritional benefits of good fresh food and he practiced it. Albert loved to fish with his sons and taught them the "art" of hooking the worm and catching the fish. Albert loved to tease. He teased everyone, his wife, his children, grandchildren and anyone who knew him. You could never be mad at him...You would just laugh with him. We will truly miss Albert's enormous sense of humor. On the late evening of Thursday, February 12, 2009, God sent his Angels down and gave Albert his wings. God needed someone to come and tend his garden, tease his angels, and cook for his feast, so he called on Albert, who did not debate with God, but quickly answered the summons. Albert's son Harry Samuel, grandson Bernard Davis, Jr., and 2 brothers Joseph and Walter Samuel preceded him in death. Albert truly, beyond any doubt, will be missed by all who Loved and Knew him...He leaves to cherish his memories, his Much-Loved wife, Fannie Mae, children, Bernard Michelle, Ella Mae of S.C., Alfred Sr., Louis Sr. Cheryl, Karen, Albert Jr. Bernadette, Dawn, Ira, Sr., and Tiffany Samuel all of Baltimore, Maryland, grandchildren, Bernetra, Jonathan Danielle, Tonya Shawn, Kenisha, Quincey, Kimberly, Janel, Jacquelynn, Alfred Jr., Nicole, LaToya, Ashly, Jacob, Shadonna, Albert 3rd, Alana, LaShawn, Louis Jr., Donae, Alan, Ira Jr., Tyneara, Bernard, 16 great-grandchildren, sisters, LeAnna Clifton, Loretta Jefferson Howard, Marian Morgan Sonny and sister-in-law, Pearline Ferguson, Viola Kearson, Rose Winfield, Alretha McCrae, Albertha Marrow Willie, Daisey Marshall, brother-uin-law, robert, Rufus and Willie Marshall, a special son, Chris, a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins, special friends, Mr. chapman, Mr. B.
