Obituary

Alethea Ann Hursey, also known to family and friends as Chickie, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 10, 1963 to Mary Hursey and the late Carl Hursey. She departed this life on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Alethea was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system. Alethea attended Barclay elementary, Northern Parkway Jr. High and Eastern Senior High. Alethea was employed at S&H Moran Bakery for numerous of years until her illeness would not allow her to work anymore. Even though Alethea could not work anymore in the bakery, she would continue to strive to work by being self-employed. Anyone who knew Alethea as they called her Chickie, knew she always had some type of business going on, selling dinners, sandwiches, chicken boxes, frozen cups or candy to make a living. throughout her sickness Althea always kept a smile on her face and knew how to make others laugh and enjoy life. She would give you the blouse off her back and the shoes off her feet to enlighten someone else's day. Althea, Chickie, as they all knew her touched many lives. She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories: two sons, Moses and Antione, two daughters, Michelle and Annette. Three grandchildren, Cashae, Tyshea, and Antione Jr. Her mother Mary several sisters, Darlene, Mary, Dionne, Edna, Caroline, Michelle and Ingram, several brothers, Nathaniel, David, Pedro, Carl Jr., Anthony, four Aunts, two Uncles, one Brother-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. One close friend who stuck with her until the end.
