Alexander Thomas Jr., was the son of Alexander Thomas Sr. and Mary Thomas.

He was married to Princess Sanders Thomas for five extraordinary years and were together for 16 years. They were united in holy matrimony on April 23, 2011.

Alexander had four children from a prior marriage; Alexander Thomas III, from Colorado, Michael Thomas, from Colorado, Steven Thomas from Tennessee and Sherri Thomas from Maryland.

Alexander Thomas affectionately known as "Big AI" has two sisters; Evelyn Booker from Pennsylvania and Bessie Yorkman from Virginia, two broth- ers who preceded him in death, George and Marshall, two sisters Margaret Cannon and Maria Bacon.

Alexander had a mother-in law, Mary Ann Sanders, brother in-law, Rev. D.M. Sanders II, sister in-law Laurie Sanders, Jerome Dwight Sanders and Felicia Sanders.

Alex graduated from Dunbar High School. Alex retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service on August 31, 1971. Alex was also a boxer in the military who was known for his "knockout left hook".

Alexander joined St. Matthews United Methodist Church at an early age.

Alex leaves to mourn his lovely and devoted wife and friend, Princess Sanders Thomas, who remained by his side during good times and during his illness until God called for him to come on home. Alex also leaves to mourn two dear friends, Kim Howard, neighbor, and "sister", Annett along with Anthony Woods (Nephew) and Sherri Howard (Little) niece. Alexan- der also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends.
