Alexander McCoy Andrews, son of the late Fred Harrison and Nora Andrews-Harris was born on July 24, 1936, in Norfolk, Virginia. He departed this life on September 28, 2011 after a very lengthy illness. "Andy" as he was known to his friends, received his education in North, Carolina's Public Schools System. He moved to Baltimore at an early age, when most of his friends went to New York and Washington, D.C. to live. Here Andy was employed and retired as a welder for 30 years at Bethlehem Steel Corporation. After his retirement he worked for the Baltimore City Public School System until his illness. "Andy" met, fell in love with, and married Camilla Wylene Lane and from this union seven children were born. "Andy" was known to be a comedian, singer, dancer, loving father and husband. He had an infectious laugh, a classical sense of style and was known to be exceedingly generous. He leaves to mourn, his wife Camilla Andrews, five daughters Marilyn Johnson Pippen, Cynthia Andrews-Odom, Wendy Andrew Andrews and Fred Allen Andrews, who proceeded him in death; two brothers Robert Andrews and Sonny Harrison who proceeded him in death; grandchildren Caroline, Henry, Phillip, Tyra, Brtiiany, Stephanie, Sheldon, David, Cortney, Timara, and Little Mark, 4 great grand-children, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
