Alexander Merle Robinson, was born March 7, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland. After a lengthy illness, he entered into eternity on Sunday, March 12, 2006. ''Alex,'' as he was affectionately called by his faily and friends, was educated in the Baltiore City Public Schools. Alexander met and later married his lifetime sweetheart Lavinia Patterson on October 10, 1953. From this union, ten beautiful children were born. In his aspiration and determination to provide for his family, Alexander was employed at various jobs, including Pratt Furniture and Parks Sausage, from which he later retired after many years of service. Alex was a family man who was loved by his family and friends for coordinating backyard cookouts, trips to Sandy Point and Gunpowder Falls State Park, annual outings at the Coast Guard Yard and celebrating the birthdays of his grandchildren; of which, until his illness he never missed one. He was also a highly skilled handyman who could repair and build almost anything from scratch. Alexander was loved and will be deeply missed by all. He leaves to mourn; his wife of fifty-two years, Lavinia; seven sons, Paul, Anthony, Michael, Darnell and Darry sons Alexander Jr. and Ronald preceded him in death; three daughters, Dianne Jackson, Charlotte Hines and Katrina Smith; thirty-seven grandchildren, twenty-six grat-grandchildren, five daughtes-in-law, three sons-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews and lifetime friends.
