Alexander Jenten Ruffin, Jr., the son of the late Mattie and Reverend Jenten Ruffin was born on July 10, 1937 in Petersburg, Virginia. He entered into eternal rest on April 1, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Alex was baptized at an early age by his father, Reverend Jenten Ruffin. He was united in holy matrimony to Susan Sarah Randall on December 3, 1960. Their ended with her death on January 4, 2000. Alex held various jobs throughout his life. He worked at the BWI Airport returning lost luggage to travelers. He also worked as a truck driver for Lombardi Foods. His last job was driving for bulk trash pickup for Baltimore City Department of Sanitation. Alex was Mr. Fix-It to his wife and children. all he needed was a piece of gum, a rubber band, a paper clip and piece of duck tape and he could fix anything. His hearty laugh, warm smile and incredible sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Alex was also preceded in death by his two sons, Charles Coates Jr. and Alexander Ruffin, Jr. Alex leaves to cherish the memory of his life; two sisters, Rachel Mercer and Veola Wilkes of Richard, Virginia; one brother-in-law, William Randall; three daughters, Teres Thompson Jerome, Cheryl Ruffin and Carolyn Broidy; one son, Andrei Ruffin Lorone; one granddaughter, Kere Thompson; nine grandsons, Dante Coates, Mdarquis clanton, Brandon Stroud, Ronald Chisoim, Jamal Ruffin, Justin Ruffin, Joshua Ruffin and Alexander "AJ" Ruffin; one great-granddaughter, Jada Coates; and two great-grandsons, Damari Coates and Khye coates; and a host of family and friends.
