Obituary

ALEXANDER ZACHARY WILLIAMS, affectionately known to his family
and friends as "ALEX" was born the youngest son to the late
Ruby Juanita (Burrell) Williams on February 3, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland.

At birth, Alex was born with major vision problems which resulted in
him having to undergo three major eye surgeries before he was five
years old. The outcome of these procedures left Alex with his trademark,

"Dreamy Sleepy Eyes". To help Alex with his vision problems he started
strengthening his eye muscles by learning to build plastic model cars
and planes. Alex treasured his model collection.

Alex graduated in 1982 from Eastern High School, Baltimore, Maryland.
Alex's lean body structure allowed him to excel and make high school
records in the sport of Track and Field. His best events were the High Jump,
Hurdles and Cross Country. He also studied Computer Technology at
DeVry Institute, Columbus, Ohio. Eventually changing colleges and
studies, Alex earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Baltimore
City Community College (BCCC) in 1988. Alex enlisted in the United States
Army and served his country as-a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Specialist
after receiving his Electrical Engineering Degree. Alex acquired several
skills and formalized his training as a Hazardous Material Handler, a Carpenter
and a Laborer. He had an extensive employment history that led him to
occupations from an Electrical Supervisor to Student Housing Administrator
for Morgan State University.

Alex received his Christian education as a child at Central Baptist Church where
he attended with his Mother, Aunts and Siblings. "

Alex was an excellent musician and composer. He played six different
instruments:the Piano, Trumpet, Trombone, Bassoon, Flute and "Himself',
a natural talent to play trumpet with just his teeth and mouth which was
funny and interesting. Alex also wrote poetry and music. A song that he
wrote and shared with friends and loved to perform entitled "Compassion"
was his favorite and most memorable. Alex was also a large animal lover.
It was amazing watching his gentleness with all animals, especially cats.
Anyone who knew Alex knew how much he loved to eat! It was extremely
puzzling watching a man of Alex's size consume so much food. It was not
puzzling to see Alex anywhere, anytime doing
anything! Alex was known to just "Show Up" at family members' homes or
gatherings. If you asked him, Alex, How Did You Get Here? He would just
mumble something that made absolutely no sense at all and answer with his
signature laugh, "Aa Ha"! Alex was definitely a character in his own way. He
lived, laughed and loved.

In 2014 when Alex was diagnosed with Cancer, he was not angry nor did
he complain. He graciously said, "Family, I had a good life!" He met his
illness"Head On!", "Head Held High!" and grateful for the years past
and optimistic about the
future.

During his last earthly days until his last breath, Alex was surrounded,
pampered and supported by all the immediate family and his lifelong
Best Friend "Melvin". He transitioned into Eternal Life on August 1, 2018,
while being cared for at Sinai Hospital's Seasons Hospice, Baltimore, Maryland
after a long battle of Cancer.

Alex was preceded in death by his Mother, Ruby Juanita (Burrell) Williams,
his favorite Aunt Fannie, Uncle and Father figure, Thomas Alexander Wilson,
"Uncle T". Memories of Alex will be cherished by his Son,
Jeremy Alexander Mason; Eldest Sister and Mother figure, Sheila;
Older Sister, Sharon; Big Brother, Jonathan; Little Sister,
Valerie "Baby Girl"; Nieces Raeshawn, Diamond and Kaliyah; Nephews
Jonathan (IiI Jonnny's new baby) and Kai; Great nieces Morgan and
Great nephews Brian, Josiah and Alex's Lifelong Best Friend since birth
Melvin Randolph, Jr., all who adored him tremendously.

Alex will be forever remembered by family and a host of other relatives
and friends for his mumbled Storytelling,
Wisdom, Sense of Humor and Laughter. Neither "Saint nor Sinner".
