Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend was called hone to glory on the evening of June 19, 2006. Alice Gaines, daughter of the Peter Thompson, Sr. and Louise Holiday Thompson, was born on October 16, 1927 in Baltimor, Maryland . She received her formal education in the Baltimore City Public Schools. For a period of time she worked in a factory making furniture and later became a homemaker. Her favorite job was providing for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alice waws baptisted in the Holy Ghost at a very early age. She loved listening to church programs on the radio and sharing her inspirations with family and friends while she cooked Sunday's dinner. Cooking and baking were her passion. She could whip up any type of food in minutes. She made cakes and pies from scratch that was out of this world. One bite and you will be asking for more, please. Alice was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Harry Gaines, and out of this union five children were born: Jerome, Sherwin, Conrad, Constantia and Irene. to many people she was known as Mrs. Alice, but the family knew her as ''Momma''. She made numberous friends wherever she went and wil be sincerly missed by all who knew her. She was a true friend and was devoted to her family. Alice leaves to chreish in loving memory: three sons, Jerome Gaines, Sherwin Gaines and Conrad Gaineas, two daughters, Constantia Cheseboro and Irene Wilson; two brothers, Pete Thompon Jr.Jr. and Robert Thompson; three sisters, Louise Lawrence, Ida Sessions and Beulah Gray; one uncle, Moses Thompson; one aunt, Addie Thompson; one sister-in-law, Madeline Thompson; one sister-in-law, Madeline Thompson; one son-in-law, Ray Wilson; eighteen grandcihldren, eighteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
