Alice China was the daughter of the late Octavia and
Samuel Carrol. She was born on December 6, 1930 in Ches-
ter, Virginia. She met and married the late Odell China and
out of that reunion came 8 chidden. She departed this life on
November 30, 2015.
Alice accepted and received Jesus Christ at an early age.
She attended public school in Chester, VA where she gradu-
ated and moved to Rochester, New York to obtain her associ-
ate degree in Business Administration. She worked many
years at Sinai Hospital until she retired.
Alice had one of the most soft and gentle voices that could
charm the hearts of many people. She loved watching game
shows and especially enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for
her family. She would express her love by collecting pictures
of her family andfriends and kissing you on your face many
times over. Her grand kids say that she was the best grand-
mother anyone could have.
She leaves to mourn: 8 children, Stephen China, David
China and Sterling China (who preceded her in death),
Michael China, Cheryle Short, Kevin China, Lisa China and
Tia Dalmita; a very special friend, Oscar Smith (who also
preceded her in death); 24 grandchildren, Steve Jr., David
and Diane China, Yvonne, Dana, Wendi, Shanelle, Otis 111
and Lakee Short; Danielle, Tanima, Kasi, Kevin Jr., Kami-
yah, Eric Jr., Erica, Latryce, Nichelle, Tory, Tyrone III,
Joshua, Brittany, Brandon, B ila I, Antwon and Octavia; 23
great grandchildren, 4 daughters-in-law, 2 sons-in-law, and
