Alice Rebecca Day was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 19, 1930, to the late William and Lucinda Allen. Alice was affectionately known as Tea to her family and friends. Early on Wednesday morning April 12, 2017 after a lengthy illness God lovingly called her home to be with Him.
Alice was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She was next to the youngest of eight children one sister, Dorothy, six brothers Herman, James, Clarence, John, William, Albert.
Alice was a faithful member of The St. Bernadine Roman Catholic Church for over fifty years where she served as a member of the Gold Dome Club and various other organizations. She was a member of the Naomi Grand Lodge Eastern Stars serving in the capacity of treasury to The Pettus Memorial Chapter #23.
Alice loved and enjoyed spending times traveling, shopping, going out to lunch/dinner with her daughters. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was married to her lifelong sweetheart Vincent J. Day Sr. until his death on November 10, 1992 after 45 years of marriage. From this union two boys and seven girls were born. Vincent Jr., Melvin, Dorothea, Helen, Catherine, Geraldine, Betty, Gloria and Alice.
Alice's life was centered on being a good wife and mother to her family.
She leaves not to mourn her death but to honor and celebrate the memory of her life: daughters, Dorothea, Betty, Gloria and Alice; son-in-law, Vernon White; daughters-in-law, Oveda and Linda; brother, Albert Allen; sister-in-law, Peggy; aunt, Geraldine Day; stepson, Marvin Cornish; 26 grandchildren, 80 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
Three daughters, Catherine, Geraldine and Helen two sons, Vincent Jr., and Melvin, four grandsons Darrell, Marlo, Larry and Samuel, five brothers, Herman, James, Clarence, John, and William who all preceded her in death.
