Alice Roberts Carter went to glory with the Lord and Savior on Monday, Alice was born
on August 1. 1952 in Washington, D.C to the Late Wilbur Walker Sr. and Mildred Walker.
Alice met her dearest love, Roosevelt Carter, in 1976 and married him in 1999. Roosevelt
helped raise Alice Roberts Carter's beautiful daughters Shawan Roberts and Chanell
George. And later Alice gave birth to the late Ronald Carter.
Even though Alice was born in Washington D.C, she spent most of her life in Baltimore,
Maryland. She attended Mergenthaler High school and be-came part of the nursing
program. After graduation, she became a Nursing Assistant. Alice was very passionate
about helping and taking care of people.
After Chanell was born, Alice became a stay-at-home mom. During that time, she attended
Wilson Park Church in Baltimore. She sung in the choir and was known in the church and
community for baking pies and cakes.
Alice loved watching her stories, Pepsi, cross-word puzzles, Maryland Lottery, Raven's
Football Games, cooking, sewing and surprise visits from her grandchildren.
"Sugar Smack" was Alice's nickname from her siblings because she would often not share
her Cracker Jack's. The name stuck with her and carried its way through the family.
Alice received the call to go home to be with the LORD on December 3, 2018 at the age
of 66. Her work here is done, but her legacy and prayers still live on in her family.
Alice is survived by her husband Roosevelt Carter; her two daughters Shawan Roberts
and Chanell George, one son in law Ernest George and 1 step daughter Melissa Carter; 5
grandchildren Shaniqua Johnson, Shambre Jackson, Shaquille Roberts, Sharniece Adams,
Kapriece Walker, Kennedy, Michael and Treasure; 1 Great grandchild Laquay Haynie; her
siblings Wilbur Walker, Jr. (Christa), Sheldon Walker (Maudline), Willa Mae Lee, Willette,
Audrey Blake, Willexia. and a host of nieces and nephews.
