Alice Alena Spencer 87,, daughter of the late Joseph and Adella Wallace
was born September 7, 1928, in Annapolis, MD. She was called home
to be with the Lord on Saturday morning July 9, 2016.
She received her education from St. Mary's Catholic School were she also
attend church as a youth. In her later years she joined First Baptist Church
of Annapolis.
She retired from the NavaL Academy after over 20 years as a supervisor in
the Laundry Department. While employed she received numerous awards
and letters of appreciation for her loyaLty and devotion.
On July 9, 2005 she received The Governor's Citation for outstanding
community service and also she received a citation from the Maryland
General Assembly for her dedication, commitment, and longevity to the Clay
Street Community.
Alice was one of the first families to move into the O'bery Court Community,
were she resided for over sixty years. She was affectionately known as
"Grandma" to the community. Alice was the glue that kept her family
together. she extended her love and wisdom to all those who came in contact
with her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and they were
dedicated to her. Everyone Loved her cooking especially her rolls and sweet
potato pudding.
Her hobbies included playing Bingo and cards with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Spencer Sr., daughter
Pauline Neal, son Calvin Booth and brother James Johnson.
She leaves to celebrate her legacy: her brother, William Tongue; (ALma) 6
children, Edward Spencer Jr. (Ann), Joseph Spencer(Tee), Dora Brown,
Marilyn Booth-Carter(Louis), Vincent Booth, and Lisa Matthews;17 grand-
children, 45 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Her
devotedfriend's, Francis Brown, Tyjuan Thompson, Ramona Sims; devoted
