Alissa May Briscoe,
was born to the late Paul and Gertrude Briscoe
on February 4, 1948 in Lackawanna, New York. She went on to
be with her Lord and Savior on January 24,2018 in
Baltimore, Maryland, after a brief illness.
At an early age, Alissa was brought to Baltimore by her parents.
She was baptized into the Catholic faith, soon after residing here
in Baltimore.
Alissa attended St. Pius V, St. Frances Academy and Coppin State
College for her formal education. She made many friends during her
school years.
In 1982, Alissa had one son, Jason, whom she loved very dearly.
She was truly a devoted and caring mother. He was the love of her
life.
As a young woman, Alissa's professional career included many
different fields. She was employed by the Social Security
Administration, the Baltimore City Health Department, and the
Baltimore City Public School System where she worked as an educator.
Later in life, Alissa joined the East Baltimore Church of Christ
where she found much solace and fulfillment in her life. She had
many devoted friends, which was very evident from the way she
spoke of her church family.
Alissa enjoyed listening to music, going to parties, celebrating
the holidays with family and traveling to other states to visit her
friends. In later years, she enjoyed vacationing in St. Mary's County,
Maryland with her cousins, Lois and Barbara.
She leaves to cherish her memory: One son, Jason P. Hill (Jasmine);
one brother, Jeffrey Briscoe; two grandchildren, Jason Hill, Jr. and
Jenna Hill; two aunts, Doris Odum and Dorothy Johnson;
a long - time friend, Tyrone Hill; and a host of other relatives
and friends.
