ALLEN HAYNES WARDLAW, SR., son of the late Curtis E. Wardlaw and Audrey Wardlaw, was born on January 30, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life with his family surrounding his bedside. He attendd the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Douglass Senior High School in 1965. Upon completing high school, he enlisted into the U.S. Army and was dicharged on March 20, 1969. His work history began at the early age of thirteen in the varsity Sub Shop, where he performed various duties. He worked for the Chessie Railroad Systemfor sixteen years as a brakeman. while in the military, he met and married Virginia Murphy and from this union four children , Rodney, Roshaun, Roshelle and Ron were born. Allen enjoyed life and spending time with family. He always eager to take his youngest daughter, Autumn and his grandchildren swimming, fishing, riding around town and at Mcdonald's of course! He had a witty sense og humor and a knack for making people laugh with all of his "special stories". He was fond of the movies" Cool Hand Luke" and "The Godfather," and could preciely recite scence from both. His favorrite pastimed were palying cards and slot machines. Allen possessed the gift of teaching, especiallly when it came to children. He was definitely a kid at heart. He had a great appreciation for philosophy, wildlife, all types of music, and those old Westerns. He found enjoyment in dirving and hanging around the Democrat Club. Like a philosopher, he analyzed almost everthing. Allen befreinded many people from many places, butespecially in Cherry Hill, where he grew up. He would give you hi last and neverlook for anything in return. He is loved by many and will be sorely missed. He leaves to cherish his memory : his children, RodneyRobin, Roshaun, Roshelle, Ron, Allen Jr. and Autumn; ten grandchildren;brothers, Curtis Jr.Sharon, Everette and GaryMarybrother, Bernard Marine preceded him in death; two aunts, Constance Wise of Rhonda Island and martha Marine; Uncle, Charles Green; a host of nieces, nephews, cousinsand friends includiong devoted freinds Pat Johnson and bestfriends William Spears.
