IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alma
Briley
August 15, 1932 – October 22, 2018
ALMA CORNELIA JONES was born on August 15, 1932
in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina to the late Robert Jones
and Susie Arrington.
She moved to Baltimore at an early age with her family and
attended Baltimore Public Schools. Upon completion she
attended Apex Beauty School and for a while worked as a
beautician. She went on to work for Western Electric on
Broening Highway. They became AT&T and she relocated
with them to Richmond, Virginia until her retirement in 1989.
She then returned to Baltimore.
Alma met and married Rudolph Johnson, her first husband.
She later married Kelly Briley and remained with him until his
passing. She enjoyed traveling, word games and puzzles, and
working on jewelry; but her passion was going to the casinos
and playing the lottery-oh, and let's not forget about
Steve Harvey!
Alma was preceded in death by one son, Ollie McClain
(Tom Thumb), brothers John Henry, Paul, Albert (AP), Jesse
and Ernest, and sisters, Louise, Virginia, and Julia.
Alma leaves to mourn: one sister, Susie McNair; step-daughter,
Donna Carmichael; step-grandson, Jamal Carmichael; devoted
niece and cousin, Margie and Marilyn, and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, family and friends.
