Alphonzo I. Riddick or "Bookie" to his friends, son of the late James and Dorothy Williams, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 9, 1932. He went to be with the angels on October 5, 2009. He received his education at Frederick Douglas High School in Baltimore. Post high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served honorably for ten years. After leaving the service he went to work for the Westernhouse Corporation and subsequently drove a cab for the Yellow Cab Company for twenty years until he was forced to retie due to sickness. He married the former Margaret Stallings and from this union produces five children, Valerie, Vicky, Al Jr., Stephanie and Ronald. He is survived by Margaret and his kids; four grandsons, Al III, Dearis, Robert Jr. and Ronald Jr.; five granddaughters, Jete, Al IV, angelo and Corie. In addition there are two daughters-in-law, Konecca and Patrice, and his daughter-in-law Tia. He is preceded in death by his late son-in-law Robert Collins Sr. He also leaves to mourn his brother James Williams and sister-in-law Ruth Watts and cousin Helen Branch plus a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
