Obituary

Angel Alberta Tyler, daughter of Melvin W. Tyler and the late Emma Thrower
Davis, was born on March 22, 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this
life on February 17, 2016 after waving a courageous battle with cancer.

Angel, lovingly called Angie was educated in the Baltimore City Public School
System, graduating from Frederick Douglass High School. She furthered her
education at PTC Career Institute and earned certified nursing assistant and
geriatric nursing assistant certifications. She also attended Coppin State College
where she completed several classes.

Angie had a fulfilling nursing career; she was employed at Franklin Care
nursing home for 15 years, then did private duty nursing for 6 years. After retiring
from nursing, she still cared for family and friends; and she started a cleaning
business which she maintained until her health failed.

Angie was a woman of faith. For spiritual growth she attended her family
church, St. Phillips Baptist Church where she was baptized. She liked attending
special events at the church with her mother. Her love for God and her faith in
Him, sustained her throughout her illness.

Angie was a very special lady. She was strong-willed and highly motivated.
She accomplished whatever she set out to do. Angie was caring and compassion-
ate, always lending a helping hand, especially with childcare and housekeeping.
She had a great sense of humor and like a comedian she was amusing and
entertaining. Still she was outspoken and straightforward, she did not bite her
tongue. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and watching a "good
movie", especially horror movies. Her hobbies included: cooking, cleaning,
drawing, "doing hair", and collecting teddy bears. Never lost for words, she used
to say: "let me tell you something", "check it out", and "no fool no fun".

We thank and praise God for the life of our beloved Angel A. Tyler. Her caring,
compassionate and comedic spirit will be greatly missed. We will remember her
selfless acts of kindness and cherish her memory always.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by: sister, Roxsan Davis; 3
nephews, Jeffrey McFadden, Marvin Cook, and Vincent Tyler, Jr; niece Kesha
Davis; 2 uncles Herman Thrower, Jr. and Leroy McKinstry, Jr.; sister-in-law,
Betty Davis; and 2 friends who she considered to be sisters: Alicia Lee El and
Debra Ann Cox.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: son Edward Eugene Gardner; 2
daughters Latanya Tyler and Stephanie Faulk Davis (Marquis); 7 grandchildren:
Samantha, Samaria, Ashley, Tyaz, Corey, Cobe', and Amari; her father; 8 broth-
