Angela B. Gilliard, daughter of the late Thomas Earl and
Estelle Lavina Means was born on November 12, 1952 in the city
of Baltimore, Maryland. She transitioned from her earthly life on
May 19,2018 at Mercy Hospital.
She was known to all by her nickname "Angie", and received
her education in the Baltimore City Public School system. Angie's
employment history began in the City at Edmore Hardware on
Edmondson Avenue where she became a longtime employee.
She was also later employed at Lexington Market and at the Target
Store in Towson, Maryland as a cook. She remained at the Target
Store until her health no longer allowed her to do so.
Angie was known for her beautiful eyes and people would often
say, just like the song, she had "Bette Davis Eyes". Angie was a
kirid, fun-loving, free spirit, who loved a good party, enjoyed spending
time with friends and liked meeting new people.
On September 12, 2014, Angie was joined in Holy Matrimony to
her long time friend, companion and love, Ronald Gilliard. With this
union, ,Angie became step-mother to Ronald's three daughters and two
sons and Ronald became step-father to Angie's son.
Angie loved church and attended various churches ill Baltimore
until her health beganto fail.
To cherish her memory, Angie leaves a devoted husband, Ronald
Gilliard, her son, Andre Payne, Sr., step-children, Sharrie Gilliard, Latrice
Gilliard, Raahid Gilliard; Renee' Morton (Levi) and Lamont Miles; a grand-
child, Andre Payne, Jr.; ten step-grandchildren; ten great step-grandchildren;
two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Brown and Marchiel McDuffie-Means, a niece
and god-daughter, Makita McDuffie-Means; nephew, Jamal Means(Natasha),
step-nephew, William Brown, cousins, Gloria Stewart, Dennis Stewart,
Barbara Hardison and Brenda Carey, devoted friends, Athena Bridges and
Donald Myers, and a host of other relatives and friends. Her only brother,
Thomas E. Means, Jr. preceded her in death .
