Angelina B. Benjamin, daughter of the late Francis S. Grady and William N. Gresham, was born of January 29, 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on August 9, 2011, after suffering a heart attack. She received her education at Western High School in Baltimore. Upon graduation she received her ninety-hour certificate in Early Childhood Education from BCCC. She later became employed by the Baltimore City Public School System as a substiute teacher. She touched many young lives with her religious and bubbly demeanor. Angelia married Simon T. Benjamin, Sr.; and of this union five children were born, Simon Jr., Joseph, Sara, Samuel and the lat Nathaniel Benjamin, Sr. Angelia, also known as "Sister Angel" by her former students, church members and Charities, was a heavily religious woman. She made friends everywhere she went. She attended Sharon Seventh Day Adventist for most of her life and later rejoined the Catholic Church. She gave to numerous children based charities and despite a lifelong battle with mental illness, taught all five of her children to put God first. She was truly a devoted family woman. She leaves to mourn; her husband, Simon T. Benjamin, Sr.; three sons, Simon T. Benjamin, Jr., Joseph Benjamin and Samuel Benjamin; daughter, Sara Benjamin; three sisters, Melody Grandy, Marshell Gunther and Sylvia Grandy; two brothers, William N. Gresham and reginald Gresham; a mother-in-law, four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.
