Ann Jeannette Matthews-Clark, daughter of Colene and the late Grady Matthews was born on July 9, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on May 5, 2017 after a sudden illness.

Ann, the fifth of seven children received her education in the Baltimore City Public Schools System, later, earning her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.

Ann met Arnold, later married him and out of this union Derrick their only son who she loved dearly and would give the world to was born.

Ann gained employment at the Bon Secours Health System as a Case Manager Specialist where she remained employed for 23 years until her sudden illness which ultimately lead to her untimely demise.

Ann had a passion for dancing, especially line dancing, African art and most of all history. Ann accepted Christ and began her spiritual journey at the Cornerstone Church of Christ under the leadership of Pastor Reginald T. Johnson. Ann cared for and considered her nieces and nephews as her children. She truly loved her family and enjoyed family outings and gatherings. Most of all Ann had a love for eating crabs with family and friends. Ann will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her brother Shawn. She leaves to mourn: her mom, Colene; step dad, Roy; one son, Derrick; four sisters, Juanita, Gloria, Iris and Winnie; two brothers, Anthony (Sandra) and Mack (Vareasa); two aunts, Esther Glover of New York and Mary Davis of Baltimore; two uncles, Hue Miller Smith (Berneice) and Theodore Smith both of Baltimore; 14 nieces and nephews; 29 grand nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and close friends.
