Anna Dean Allen Figgs was born febuary 22, 1925 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Annie t. Thomas and Melvin Allen. She departed this life Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 2:40 a.m. Mrs Ann, as she was affectionately known, was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She worked at the Gibbs Canning Company in Canton. In her early years she worshipped at Morning Star Baptist Church. Later she joined Sharon Baptist Church where she was a devoted member until her death. She will be greatly missed. She loved going to Sandtown-Winchester Senior Center. Her hobbies and pastime were watching westerns, baseball, cartons, and playing bingo. She leaves to cherish her memories, 7 children, Annette, James, Betty, Linda, Patricia, Shirlene, and Melvin; 2 sisters; Doris Thomas and Shirley and husband, Narzel Jenkins; 11 grandchildren; Edward, Zelma, Annie, Constance, Vonda, Robert, Kimberly, Charles IV, Dennis, Alieta, and Kevin; 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 devoted caretakers; Daphne Johnson and Lindsey Williams, and a host of relatives and friends.
