On Monday, May 26, 2014 at approximately 7:00 p.m. at Bon Secure Hospital, in Baltimore, Maryland. God saw fit for Anna Lucille Veney to brighten Haven with her distinctive kind heart. Although she will be truly missed on this earth by many, for her loving spirit and charitable heart it is now time for eternal life to begin. Anna Veney affectionately known as "Tina" was born on May 1 0, 1946 in Jacobsville, Maryland to the late Leon and Leona Cheeves. Anna received her formal education in Anne Arundel County public school system. She received her GED in 1974 and ventured on to become a Culinary Designer. Moving to Baltimore City at an early age Anna met her sweetheart the late Ervin Veney and in 1963 entered into marriage that lasted a lifetime. She was later blessed with her adopted children, April Stevenson, James Stevenson and the late Aisha Stevenson. Making her own foot steps Anna was a diligent worker, rendering 21 years of services at Maryland University and Morgan State University in Culinary Department. Participating in the grand events being held in Maryland gave Anna' the opportunity to show off her skills. One of her favorite of all was work she performed at the Maryland Preakness. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: two sisters, Patricia Kane and Karen Phillips; two brothers, Bobby and James Cheeves; three sisters-in- law, Edith and Valerie Cheeves and Toni Veney; one brother-in-law, Gregory Phillips; sixteen nieces, thirteen nephews, and a host grand, great grand nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
