Obituary

On Monday, June 25, 2012, God our father whispered gently as He called our beloved Annie Eliza home to be with Him. He knew she was tired and weary and ready for her journey to be with HIM in her heavenly home and to be with her brothers and sister Willie, Joseph, Roy, Earl and Mae. Annie Eliza Edwards born July 21, 1933 in Granville County, North Carolina to the late Lula and Joseph Edwards. Annie was the youngest child of a family of eight children. Annie or Ann/Annie Eliza, which her family and friends called her, was educated in the public school system, Tar River Elmentary & Creemoor High School. Annie was very intelligent. She was an avid reader. She loved reading God's word. Annie loved the LORD with all her heart. Annie came to Baltimore at a young age and held various jobs. the first that she held when she came to Baltimore was a position working with Edgar Alen Poe family. She worked in different factories and she also did home healthcare work, working as a Companion Aide to the elderly. the most important job Annie held was being a loving, caring Mother and Grandmother. Annie loved her children, grands and great-grands unconditionally. Annie was a wonderful neighbor and loving friends to all that knew her. Annie was considered by some the "Afro-American" Mother Teresa because she was always visiting, cooking, feeding and caring for her neighbors and friends. Annie was a wonderful cook. We will all miss the wonderful meals that she prepared before her health started to fail. When Annie's health began to fail, she made the decision not to do any evasive surgeries. Annie gathered her children and her devoted niece Trudy, who she considered her "oldest daughter, because of their very "special relationship", and said that she was trusting GOD to see hr through her health storm. she wanted them to stay strong in the LORD and respect hr wishes, and they all did. Whatever HIS will was for her soul, she said she was ready to meet our Almighty GOD. Annie got her wish, GOD sent HIS Angels for her in a very quiet way with her children, grandchildren, and family members surrounding her as she made the transition form her earthly home to her "heavenly home."" Thank you Professional Healthcare Resourees for your care, love and support through this transition. A special thanks to Jenifer, Debbie, Kathy, Desiree, and Ida who gave Annie the best care humanly possible. To know Annie was to love Annie.. Her love for people was infections. She will be missed, but we know that she is with GOD and in a better place. Annie leaves to celebrate her life, four children, Ronnie, Marvin, Tammy and Kenny Karen; six grandchildren, Sequintta Bobby, Marvin, Jr., Ronnie, Jr., Tanesha, Marnette, and Kelly; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Nannie Long, one brother, Thomas Edwards Lillie; one aunt, Sarah Anderson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a very devoted lifetime friend, Lessie Cooley Hicks of Oxford, North Carolina and many many other friends.
