Antar Hannibal Askia affectionately known as Pork Chop, Chops, Porkie Hannibal, Tar, Baba, Mr. Babe and Soldier was a Universal spirit and Warrior that was gifted to the earth to Bernice and Clarence on March 23, 1952. As a young Man-child Antar, assumed many responsibilities of the household until his mother married Ike Stevenson who then became the father in his life. He Won his battle "warrior Down, Not Out, Ascending Up "On August 10, 2011. The challenges of the inner city streets of Baltimore led Antars family to move him to Boston Massachusetts to live with friends. There he matured and discovered his Divine purpose. A natural seeker of knowledge Antar always gravitated towards higher learning. His affiliation with the Malcolm X center and the A. Phillip Randolph foundation led him to pursue his committed responsibility to the black community. After his five year stay in Boston he decided to return to Baltimore city roots to make a difference. there he enrolled in Bay College of Maryland in 1974 where he met his beloved Queen June Sorrell. For 38 years they had a life of love and family with their son Antwan who he loved dearly. Antar and his Queen strong family values led them to spend quality time with their family especially his grandsons James and Antwan. Together they enjoyed cultural events such as sports, martial arts and rites of passage to name a few. Antar taught his son and grandsons how to be strong men. the Askia household was always festive with celebrations, which included parties of all kinds such as their annual family cookout, honoring achievements and education for the younger generation. Antar was a renaissance man with broad interest. His fashion style went from Afro-centric to GQ. Whatever he wore it was with grace and finesse, he was "the original man of swag'. His passion to make a difference with the youth and men in the community led him to a lifelong commitment to human services. In 1995 Antar was employed by Baltimore City Healthy Start as a senior counselor in the Men's Services program. His ability to recruit men helped establish the Eastside component of men's services as a viable entity. He inspired and challenged these men by teaching and demonstrating the true meaning of manhood. While serving as the program director at the Men's Center, Antar designed the Ebge Akokonrin Society of Brave Men with co-founder Ademola Ekulona. Antar insisted that the lack of outside funding would not not stop the work of developing pro-social manhood in the African American community. As the Basorun Prime Minister of the Ebgbe, "Baba Femi" as he was called helped construct a self-funding process that reflects the African tradition that each family must allocate resources toward the life cycle development knowing that manhood cannot be left to chance. Antar's industrious and enterprising spirit led him and his partner Imani Askia Toure-El to establish a publishing company call separte Entity, Inc. that same year "360 Poetry" the first in a servioes of work by Antar appeared. He also developed and published "A.M.A.L.I."" African Male Advocates and Leadership Institute curriculum.
