Apostle Anthony Roland Fliggins, Sr. affectionately known as
"Preacher
"
was born to the late Douglas Cornish and
Mary Elva Simmons in Baltimore, Maryland on September
6, 1954.
On August
22,
2018 God saw fit to call his beloved home.
After receiving his education from the Baltimore City Public
School System he would go on to immediately work for
Advanced Moving and Storage Company.
Apostle Fliggins was a born an
.
raised in East Baltimore and
from his youth he always had a love and interest for the
local assembly, even serving as Sunday School Superintendent
at New Baptist Church under the leadership of
Reverend Albert Hardy at the age of twelve.
It was at New Baptist Church where he received the Holy Ghost
and met the love of his life Ida Mae Byers whom he affectionately
called "Elect Lady Mae
"
Fliggins.
In
1981
he moved his family to West Baltimore where he would
begin to launch his vision with his family as a community activist,
entrepreneur, and serving in the vital role as spiritual advisor
and PTA president to the children and staff of the
Mary E. Rodman Elementary School, #204.
Apostle Fliggins believed in living by faith and took his first leap
when he abruptly left his job and went into full time ministry.
During that time he met his best friend and companion in the
Gospel, Bishop Thomas Kelly, preaching on the street corners
of Old Town Mall,Lexington Market, and his main public
sanctuary was on33rd
&
Greenmount Avenues.
His public ministry led him to his spiritual father and late Bishop,
Romeo Owens who would take him under his wings. In
1982
Apostle Fliggins was installed as pastor of Mount Sinai Doorway
Church of God in Christ and there is where he remained a son until
the Lord called him home.
Apostle Fliggins supported and help numerous Bishops and Pastors,
Bishop Tinsdale, Bishop Frisby
,
Reverend Moon
(the Unification Movement)
,
Reverend Manns, and The Crusaders,
just to name a few.
In
1989,
Apostle Fliggins became the pastor of Mt. Zion Bloodwash
Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Lee Goings and
from that relationship, he built lasting fellowships with
Emmanuel Temple, Pilgrim Temple, Ebenezer Holiness,
Highway To Heaven
1 & 2,
Philadelphia Seven Day Adventist,
and King Deliverance, where he served as the Associated Bishop
,
mentor
,
and friend under the late Bishop Fred Morman.
In
1992
Apostle Anthony Fliggins took another leap of faith and
launched his own organization, Come to Life Ministries where
established his first church, Light of Life The Church of Jesus Christ #1.
