Obituary

Anthony Louis Jones, Sr., was born March 10, 1951, to the
late David Louis Jones and Novella Jones, both raised in
Baltimore, Maryland. He received his education in the Baltimore
City Public School System. As both of Anthony's parents
departedthis life at early ages, Anthony was raised by his maternal
great-grandmother, Ophelia Truesdale, whom Anthony affectionately
called "Maw". As a child, Anthony attended church with "Maw".

Anthony overcame many obstacles in his journey through this life but
eventually found enjoyment in his employment with the City of
Baltimore as a recycling laborer and groundsman for the last 18 years.
He was loved by many and had many names of affection: Daddy, AJ,
Jones, Legs, and of course, Pop Pop.

Anthony grew into quite a mellow type of guy. He spent endless
hours enjoying the company of his favorite little fellows, Morgan
and Amir. It would be the hand of God who prevented Amir from
being in the company of his "Pop Pop" when Anthony's life came
to a sudden end. Another favorite pastime was watching football
games with his grandson, Melvin, and Uncle Walt. He enjoyed time
with his family, reminiscing about "the good old days" while eating
his favorite cookies and chips. He loved hanging out with his beloved granddaughter, Jackie, riding and talking trash. Of all the highs and
lows oflife, losing his son, Anthony, Jr., just 7 months ago, was the
lowest. Yes, it was quite a devastating blow.

Six of Anthony's siblings preceded him in death: Geraldine,
Stilton, Florine, Paula, Pauletta and David, Jr.

Anthony leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Tabatha
Williams (Brian); Catrina Seibles (Derek), Cheakia and Terri;
one daughter-in-law, LaTavia; 1 sister, Rosalind Diane Ellis (Charles).;
11 grandchildren, LaKia, Melvin, Jackie, Xavier, Samantha, Serenity,
Peace, Antonia, Ayanna, Anthony, III, and James. A host of
great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and friends especially Dermon
Adler, Patricia Barksdale, and Ophelia Mayo, his devoted and lifelong
friends.
