Anthony DeSayles Powell Jr. (also known as Bam or Tony),
the beloved son of Anthony DeSayles Powell Sf. and Clorie Mae Powell
was born October 31, 1967 in Baltimore, Maryland. God called him home
on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

After the death of his mother, his father married his high school
sweetheart Margaret Powell who continued to be a part of Anthony
life since age 7.

Anthony was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools where he
received his GED. Anthony was employed at Maxzelia Nursery for
several of years. He enjoyed the work oflandscape and garden design
and was always happy to lend a hand to others on their yard work.
He later moved to Durham, North Carolina to attend Durham Tech
Community College majored in Plumbing and working for Browns
Brothers Plumbing and Heating.

In the early years Anthony loved to dance. He was known on his break
dancing back in the day. He also loved to play and record music on his
reel to reel. Anthony is well known and loved wearing his hats. His special
sister Teresia who helped care for him was known to pick up a new hat for
him in her travels. He loved to shoot pool at the pool halls and was very
good at it. His favorite movies to watch was Action and Horror. Anthony
enjoyed sitting on the front steps chatting with his buddies, especially Jake.
He enjoyed his time with his closest friend Myra as they talk and enjoy
breakfast. Anthony loved his family! He enjoyed hanging out and getting
together for family events. He was known to stay in touch with family to let
you know he was thinking of you and usually like to end his call with 'I love You'. Although he was not in favor at times to take good advise, he was known to
give it. Anthony will be sorely missed.

Anthony ~as preceded in death by his sister Monique Simms.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his stepmother, Margaret Powell;
daughters, Maria Murray, Lorraine Powell, Sophia Hernandez (Eric)
and Tiffany; sons, Devin, Quentin and Tavone; brothers, Derrick Powell Sr.,
John Holt, Michael Holt (Maria) and Timmy Holt (LaShawn); sisters,
Cynthia Holt-Green (James) and Teresia Holt; grandchildren,
Braydon, Airreonna, Airreon, Tahmirr, Javen, Ayden, Ezekiel and Amelia;
loving and special aunts, Pastor Joy Harris, Vivian Watson- Thomas,
Eldress Priscilla (Freda) Scott (Willie), Exminia and Eleanora Johnson;
uncles Gregory Powell and Leroy Green. Host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, and other relatives and many friends.
