IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Antoinette Marie
Scott
December 30, 1956 – April 13, 2022
Antoinette Marie Scott, affectionately called "Toney" by friends
and her younger nieces and nephews, was born to the late Ernestine
Thompson-Scott and Howard Scott on December 30, 1956. Antoinette
was nurtured and raised as their daughter by the late Edwina and
Lloyd Wells. She passed peacefully at home with her niece, Michele
Anderson, by her side on April 13, 2022.
She was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated
from Western High School in 1974.
Antoinette joined the U.S. Marine Corp, but after completing basic
training determined it was not for her. She was honorably discharged.
She would then go on to be employed as an MTA transit bus driver.
After 13 years of driving buses and wanting to drive something
"bigger" she became a cross country truck driver. She enjoyed driving
her 18-wheeler to different states and even took her nephew along for
the trips, prompting her sister to ask, "when are you bringing my child
back home.'

Antoinette enjoyed her passion for driving trucks until
her health prevented her from doing so.
Antoinette loved dancing, singing, and hanging out with friends
and family. She also enjoyed road trips to the casinos. With her, you
had to be prepared for anything because a day trip could turn into a
weekend getaway if the "machines and tables" were working in her
favor. You could catch her watching a basketball or football game
during their respective seasons and playoffs. She also loved to eat,
especially seafood. As soon as crabs were in season, they were on her
table. We all knew to make sure she had the Benadryl on the table as
well. She was severely allergic to shellfish. If you knew Toney, you
know that did not stop her. She faithfully took her Benadryl before
and after each crab feast.
Anyone that knew Toney loved her. Her jovial personality would
always lift everyone's spirits. Her kindness and willingness to help
knew no limits. She would be your personal mechanic, driver, GPS,
comedian, or bodyguard when asked. Her famous saying was "I'm a
jack of all trades, but master of none."
Toney loved fiercely and
deeply. We take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, but her
bright light will forever live on in our hearts.
Antoinette leaves to cherish her memory: sisters (Wells) Victoria,
Maeling, and Edwina; siblings (Scott) Iva, Howard Jr., Debbie,
Dwight, Naomi, Thomas, Meryl, Gregory, Pam, and Kevin; aunts and
uncle, Creolia, Franklin Sr., and Lorretta; devoted niece & caregiver
Michele; godchildren, Monique and Evan; devoted partner of over 40
years Cynthia; and a host of family and friends.
