Archie Roenardo Thurston was born on February 22, 1958 in Cherry Hill, North Carolina, to the late Archie and Patricia Thurston. He transitioned from this life on Friday, April 1, 2017 at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Archie was known to many as "Butch ". His mother brought him up at the Highway Christian Church of Christ, 432 W ST, NW, Washington, D.C . , under the pastorate of Bishop J. V Lomax. He received his education in the Washington, DC Public School System. He loved working with his father at TNT Towing Service. He also had other work assignments in Detroit Michigan and Jacksonville Florida.

Some of Butch s hobbies were fishing , feeding the birds every morning and sharing food with those in need in his community. Butch s greatest joy in his latter years was spending time with his grandchildren, not only enjoying being with them, but cooking for and feedinj5 them as well.. While Butch was known for expressing his mind, yet it didn ' t diminish his kindness nor compassion toward others. Everyone who knew him recognized that he had a genuine heart for people . Many will indeed miss his presence in their lives.

Cherished memories of Butch will forever be held dear by his six children: Archie.Artiis . Arvel, (deceased) and Arnel Williams, Nikki Yeager, Deandre Thurston (Oreanna) ; Nineteen Grandchildren; Six siblings : Wanda Thurston, Curtis Thurston , Michelle Donaldson, Monica Stringfellow-Draper (George) , Marshall L . Draper Jr. (Rebecca) , Arnitta Maria Ugorji-Osuagwa. Three aunts: Brenda Malry, Delores Pickett, and Ruth Fowler; One Uncle: Jessie Stringfellow; One special friend Aleash Logan and a host of nieces, nephews , relatives and friends.
