Obituary

Aretha Renee Portee Parker, daugther of Moses Portee and the late Ida R. Turner, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 25, 1954. After a brief illness, aretha was suddenly call to eternal rest, while at home on Wednesday, November 5, 2009. Aretha was formally educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. For several years, she was employed as a supervisor at the Pimlico Race Course. Aretha enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family as evidenced by Mike a nephew, who she treated like a son. She also took pleasure in watching afternoon "soap operas." Aretha is loved by her family and neighbors. In addition to her mother who passed away in 2007, two of Aretha's sisters- Paulette Lewis and Patricia- preceded her in death. Aretha leaves to cherish her memories; her father; Moses Portee, one son and daughter-in-law; Irving and Sherri Montgomery; three daughers; Asia Parker, Monique Kearson and Ieasha Parker; three brothers; Andrew Hosley, Michael and Moses, Jr.; two sisters Deborah and Areatha Denise; twelve grandchildren; Ldamont, Ervine, Tre'von, Tyshay, Tre'shawana, Kareem, Irving Jr., tyese, Khayia, Tanaga and Tijae; two great-great -grandchildren; Shaniya and Lamont Jr.,; two aunts Virginia and Doris; many nephews and nieces, especially Mike and a host of other relatives and friends.
