Arthur T. Carr, Sr.,son of the late Joseph W. and Martha Carr, was born on April 25, 1921 in Cawmbridge, Maryland. He departed this life on April 22, 2007, after a lengthy illness. He received his education at Cambridge High School in Cambridge, Maryland. At the age of twenty, he enlisted in the United States Army. After an honorable deischarge from the Army, he became an entrepreneur by opening his own restaurant, Georgia's, in Baltimore City. He also pursued other avenues in the food service industry. His other interest included fishing, karate and traveling across Maryland with his motorcycle club. In 1957, he married the late Barbara Delores Bruce, and out of this union seven children were born. He later united with Vernonica Lindsay, and out of this union two children were born. For the past fifty-five years, Arthur made numerous friends in the community. He was a true friend and a devoted family man. He leaves to mourn; his children, Debora, Cindy, Arthur Jr., Elbarko, Fernando, Gail, Haydra, Amonica and LaToya; twenty grandchildren, one great-grandddaughter and a host of other family members including nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and cousins.
