Arthur
Lee Sykes was born in Columbus, South Carolina on January 7 1943, to the late
Hubert and Ella Mae Bryant. He entered into
eternal rest at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland
on Sunday, January 13,2019, after a short illness.
Arthur completed his education at Booker T
Washington School in Columbus, South Carolina.
In 1986, Arthur moved to Baltimore, Maryland,
residing on the east side, and he made many
friends. He was a caring person with a big heart,
big smile,and an unforgettable laugh. Arthur
spent lots of time with his "Boys" - longtime
friends Jerome Madison and Willie McKnight.
The trio loved to have fun. Arthur was the
life of the party. He loved playing checkers
and cards, and his favorite game was Spades.
In the spring of 2000, Arthur married his best
friend, the late Jean Miller Sykes. Arthur worked
several jobs, but his favorite was working for
the Sherman Real Estate Company. He worked
there for over 10 years side-by-side with his
twin brother Lonnie. They had a special
relationship, and a strong bond.
Arthur leaves to cherish his memory: four brothers
and two sisters, one sister-in-law and brother-in-law;
James and Betty Stewart of Jacksonville, Floric
HoraceBryant of Raleigh, North Carolina, Alexander
Bryant of Detroit, Michigan, his twin brother Lonnie
Sykes ofBaltimore, Maryland, his sisters Jennie
Bowler ofFramington Hills, Michigan, and Genitha
Bryant andbrother-in-law James Flagg of Southfield,
Michigan,and a host of other relatives and friends.
