Obituary

With deep love and profound gratitude, we celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Arthur Clifton Wright Sr., known as "Art" or "Mr. Art" to so many who loved him. Art passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, at Gilchrest Hospice Care.

Born on February 4, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland, Art was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system, where he began a lifelong journey of hard work, commitment, and service. He proudly joined the U.S. Army and served in the distinguished 7th Cavalry, where he was also a formidable member of the boxing team, a testament to his strength and determination. After his military service, he devoted himself to his craft as a machine operator at Kaydon Ring and Seal, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement.

Art was a man of skill and passion, a craftsman who worked wonders with his hands. Whether he was fixing an engine, repairing electrical work, or handling plumbing issues, he was always ready to lend a hand to family, friends, and neighbors. His talents extended beyond the practical; they were an expression of his generosity and love for those around him.

As a dedicated 32nd-degree Prince Hall Mason, a Shriner, and a proud member of the Improved Benevolent and Protective Order Elks of the World, Inc., he embodied the values of fellowship, service, and integrity. His commitment to these organizations reflected his belief in uplifting others and contributing to the well-being of his community.

Art leaves behind his devoted wife, Delores Wright, who stood by his side through every chapter of their shared journey. He is also celebrated by his children: Dr. Arthur C. Wright Jr., Patricia White, Karen Lott, and Tabatha Mceleven; his 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one precious great-great-granddaughter, each of whom brought joy and pride to his life. He leaves one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Wright, and one son-in-law, Roosevelt White. His legacy lives on through each of us, whom he loved unconditionally and guided with strength, kindness, and wisdom.

As we say goodbye, we remember his warm smile, his humor, and his generosity. His spirit remains forever woven into the fabric of our lives, reminding us to always live with love and help those in need.

You have lived a long and fruitful life. We will miss you dearly, but your memory will live on in our hearts and actions every day.
