IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Astrid
Ross
September 30, 1961 – February 25, 2021
Astrid Ross, fondly known as "Acey" to her family and friends, was the youngest daughter of the late Annie Rooks Edmonds born on September 30, 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland; she entered eternal rest on February 25, 2021.
Acey was born and raised in East Baltimore and later moved to the Park Heights area in West Baltimore. Whether you knew her from the East or Westside, Acey was adored by everyone who knew her. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and later went on to pursue college courses at the Baltimore City Community College. Acey loved looking her very best and studied cosmetology at the Eldorado School of Cosmetology in Baltimore.
She had many known talents. Acey was a talented artist and was passionate about drawing. She also enjoyed other crafts, home decorating and cooking. Her love for cooking led her to work in the hospitality industry as a cook and food service worker at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Baltimore. She also worked at various restaurants in Baltimore City and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she lived for several years. Acey was very stylish in her own right, and had an extensive collection of baseball caps, tee shirts and sneakers.
Acey was spiritual; and she often expressed gratitude and her love for God. She also loved her family and her friends dearly. She was most proud of the accomplishments of her four children, Chekesha, Shamera, Brittany and Brandon; and grandchildren, Kohdey, Tyla, and Jax to whom she was affectionately known as "Mama."
Acey was unapologetic for who she was and the life she lived; and for that we are proud and take PRIDE in knowing that she was who she was and who she wanted to be.
Astrid was preceded in death by her mother Annie Rooks Edmonds and older brother, Orville.
She leaves to cherish: three daughters, Chekesha, Shamera, and Brittany; son, Brandon; two granddaughters, Kohdey and Tyla; grandson, Jax; three brothers, Amin (Joann), Sylvester, and Christian; two sisters, Harriette "Sissy" (Lloyd) and Ada (Willie-deceased); two nieces, Lisa (Chuck) and Amy (James); nephew, Ivan; two great-nieces, Jaleesa and Alexandria; great-nephew, Justin; great-great nephew, Kingston; life-long friends, Steve, Vickie, Kurt and Gina; and a host of other very close relatives and friends.
