Augustus Jones, youngest of six children of the late Charles Jones and Elizabeth Jones, was born on January 1, 1928. Our heavenly father called Gus to his eternal rest on Thursday, May 15, 2008 after a lengthy illness. His wife Bertha Jones, two brothers Fred and William, three sisters Inez, Bertha and Edna, preceded him in death. Gus was a cheerful, loving, compassionate, unselfish giving person. He loved his family. He loved to collect clocks and they were all always set at the right time. He always wore his hats and suspenders. He also loved going to the flea markets. Gus was very proud of his job and took pride in work. He worked construction for many years. On December 31, 1990, he retired from Urban Zink Contractor, Inc. of Chase, Maryland, to care for his wife. His co-workers have never stopped talking about how hard of a worker he was. Especially his co-worker, Willie Mayers. Gus leaves to cherish his memories: two nephews, Arthur Howard and James Howard; two nieces, Alverta Harris and Edna Howard, a goddaughter, Rosella Horsey and a host of other relatives and friends.
