IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Avis Maxine
Collins
June 29, 1962 – June 1, 2018
Avis Maxine (Abby) Collins
the loving daughter of the late
October Britt and late Reginald Powell. Born June 29, 1962 in
South Hampton, Virginia. The Lord called her home on June 1, 2018
after a short term illness.
She moved to Baltimore, Maryland at a early age, where she attended
Baltimore City Public Schools. She later became a teacher-aide at
George Street Elementary School. All the kids and parents loved and
adored her there.
She met the love of her life Robert George Collins Jr., whom she
married April 5, 1997. She always said he was her soul mate.
Everyone knew if you having a party, you had to invite "Abby"
because she was the life of the party. She always said,
"I'm going to live life to the fullest so when I die this world ain't
going to owe me anything". And that she did, lived a
wonderful life and was well loved by everyone who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Shameeka Brunson
and Latrice Collins; one son-in-law, three sisters, Lillie Banks,
Angela Banks and Helen Britt Holloway; five brothers, Reginald Santos,
Johnny Britt, John "Kenny" Britt, Fredrick Banks and Harold Moore Jr.;
six sisters-in-laws, two brothers-in-law, seven grandchildren,
Shanteze, Shantrice, Donteze, Lakayla, Cyquane Cyrus, Octavia; her
devoted husband, Robert George Collins Jr.; her mother-in-
law and father-in-law, life long friend, James Brunson and a host of
aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
