Obituary

BARBARA MAE ALLEN, daughter of the late Herman and Susie Allen, was born on February 16, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on April 6, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She was employed as a Nurses Assistant, first for University of Maryland Hospital and then went into Private Duty Nursing until she became ill. She was baptized as a child and was a member of First Apostolic Faith Church; then later became a member of the First Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church in 2000, until she became ill. Barbara had one child, Theresa Allen, who preceded her in death. She also had a granddaughter, Yolanda Allen; and a nephew, Aaron Smith, who preceded her in death. Barbara was an outgoing person, truly a free-spirit who enjoyed being around people. She loved to have a good time and she really enjoyed Christmas time. She absolutely had an unconditional and passionate love for her grandson, Louis and his children. She was very devoted to her family. She leaves to mourn: her brother, Herman Allen Jr.; one grandson, Louis Brock; three nieces, Shirley, Joanne and Sharon; one nephew, Herman; three grandchildren, Lil Louie, Laniya and Keshawn; as well as several devoted friends, Shelton, Rene and LaKisha; and a host of other extended family and friends.
