Obituary

Barbara Lorraine Hocker, affectionately known as "Bobbie3' was born on August 19, 1944, in Lockhart, Texas, the first born child of Askew and Bernard Bolden, the eldest of six. On Wednesday, September 25, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer, and complications following surgery, Barbara was released from all pain and suffering, and into her eternal joy to be with the Lord. Barbara was raised in the Catholic faith and as a young girl attended St. Martin's Catholic Church, where she received her religious education. Barbara attended Baltimore city public schools. She graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1962. Her undergraduate degree was earned from Coppin State College in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1974. She also held an Advanced Professional Certificate in Elementary Education grades 1-6 and Middle School Special Education K-12. Barbara was employed by the Baltimore City Public School System (BCPSS) as a Special Education Teacher and IEP Chair. Barbara was very active in the teachers' union and served as Vice President of the Baltimore Teachers' Union. She retired in July, 2007 after thirty-two years of dedicated service. Viewing Joseph H.
