IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Ann
Mccutcheon
July 4, 1938 – March 11, 2022
On March 11, 2022 our beloved Barbara Ann McCutcheon, passed away into God's graces after a life of joy and happiness. Barbara was born to Albert McCutcheon and Ethel Moore in Dunbarton, South Carolina. A warrior throughout life, she lived to be 83 years old. Barbara's family moved to Baltimore, MD when she was a little girl where she remained until the Lord called her home to eternal rest. Her brother, Ronald, relocated to Detroit, Michigan with other family members.
Barbara attended Baltimore City Public Schools, graduating from Frederick Douglass High School and matriculated at Coppin State Teachers College (now known as Coppin State University), where she earned a degree in Education. She loved to teach. She taught in many schools for over 40 years retiring from Harford Heights Elementary school. After retiring, BAM, as she was affectionally known, volunteered at Harford Heights Elementary without pay until her health no longer allow her to continue. She wanted to make sure those beautiful children were blessed with the education they deserved.
Barbara was blessed with a very large spiritual family - The Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Family. She was nurtured by all three Pastors; the founder, Rev. Hiram Edmund Smith, the Visionary, Dr. Olin P. Moyd, and the 21st Century Ministries that matter Pastor, Dr. Franklin Lance.
Barbara was very active in many ministries at Mt. Lebanon, to include, Senior Choir, Women's Chorus, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School. Hospitality Ministry, Senior Ministry, and the "Sunday Mornings Feed my Brothers and Sisters Breakfast Ministry".,
One of Barbara's favorite things to do was to shop! She went on so many New York bus trips with Sister Ernestine Chew she had to rent a van to get her clothes and perfumes home. JOKING! She would hit the local malls often buying gifts for others. Barbara also loved to attend Broadway shows, plays, musicals and a multitude of concerts. She didn't have to worry about transportation. She had her own personal limo service at her beck and call – Barbara Casey, Doris Herndon, Deloris Mack, Wanda Derua and Hosea T. Chew, just to name a few.
While a resident at Manor Care of Roland Park, Ashley Butts and the entire nursing and rehabilitation team provided compassionate care for Barbara.
Barbara is survived by her brother Ronald (Dina) McCutcheon, nephew Kevin McCutcheon, niece Karen (Chauncey) Quinn, numerous cousins and a loving extended family.
The family would like to also acknowledge her Mt Lebanon Baptist Church family who loved and cared for her and whom she dearly loved.
