IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara J.
Partlow
December 18, 1948 – September 14, 2017
Barbara Jean Partlow was born on December 18, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland to Thelma Partlow and the late Abraham Partlow, Sr. Barbara entered eternal rest on September 14, 2017.
Barbara accepted Christ at a very early age. Later in life she was baptized into the Catholic Faith.
Bobbie as she was affectionately called by family and friends received her early education in the Baltimore City Public School system and graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School.
After high school, Bobbie worked at First National Bank as a teller. In 1972 she received her certification from the Masters Fire Arm School and later completed her training at Coppin State College in which she graduated in 1973. Through her training she was hired as a Supervisor of Security for the Baltimore City Housing Authority, where she was well liked and respected. Bobbie also received an Associate in Arts Degree with a major in Career Office Assistant in 1982 from Strayer Business College in Baltimore, Maryland.
Once she became a mother of two, it was essential for her to be home with her girls, so she pursued a career as a licensed daycare provider, which she loved doing for over 40 years until her retirement. Bobbie made many sacrifices for her girls. She made sure they received the best education in which they attended Catholic Parochial Schools. Danielle, Lisa, Glenn and her grandchildren were her pride and joy and there was nothing that she would not have done to
provide the best for them.
Bobbie treated each child that she cared for (whether they were friend or family), as if they were her own. She was so much more than just their Daycare Provider; she was their second mother, teacher, aunt, godmother, and safe haven. Every child who walked crossed her threshold, knew that Bobbie's house would always be their home. Even as her daycare children entered into adulthood, they would still come to visit.
Bobbie was a nurturer all of her life. She was the second oldest child out of 10 children and always cared for her younger siblings. Her love for her family was unmeasurable and her home was always the gathering place for the family. She also had a heart of gold and would open her doors and lend a helping hand to anyone. Bobbie was known for her great cooking, her trips to the casino, playing the lottery, and her scratch-off tickets. In Bobbie's spare time, she worked as a Chief Election Judge for over 25 years.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters Danielle Partlow (Curtis) and Lisa Smith, one son Glenn Smith; a loving and devoted mother Thelma Partlow; three grandchildren, Chriseria Partlow, Serenity Smith and Christian Gadson; two bonus children, Kayla Cole (great-niece) and Timonthy Pindell (nephew), one bonus grandson, Grey Carson Pindell (great-nephew); two sisters, Charlotte Partlow and Debra Partlow; a brother Ray Partlow; one brother-n-Iaw, James Reid; three aunts, Doris Vaughn and Lucille Vaughn of Baltimore, MD, Louise Wise of Rock Hill, S.C.; five uncles, Larry Vaughn (devoted), Calvin Vaughn, Leon
