Barry "Bubba" Staten was born on October 25, 1960 to Netha "Nannie"

Staten and Claude "Jake" Key in Boykins, Virginia. Barry attended

Boykins Elementary and South Hampton Junior High School. Barry then

furthered his education at Woodstock Job Corp Center specializing in

automotive and mechanic repair.

During this time he met Denise Snowden and out of there union the first

child Kristal Staten was born in 1983. Barry lived in Baltimore, Maryland

doing various skills, working at the Warren House his best. His longest

employment was at Beth- Tifolah. Barry continued his love for repairing

cars and whenever anyone needed help with their car he was always the

first to call. In 1987, Barry met the love of his life Lavinia Richardson and

out of this union came Justin, Jarvis, Joshua and Jada. In November 19,

2012 Barry and Lavinia made their union official and became husband and

wife. Barry was proud to be a country boy with such a lively soul and

always the life of the party! You knew Barry was around, just give it a

minute and you could hear his colorful conversations that would have you

rolling on the floor with laughter. Family functions will be a little quieter

missing that voice, but he will forever be in our hearts.

Barry is survived by his wife Lavinia Richardson-Staten, Children:

Kristal Staten, Justin Staten, Jarvis Staten, Joshua Staten and Jada Staten.

Siblings: Rosa Smith, Claude Key, Wilson Staten, Danny Staten, Aletha

Staten and Gloria Pugh. Grandchildren: Taylor Cooper, Nicole Cooper and Kyleigh Lewi

and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
