IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beatrice
Perry
November 22, 1922 – September 14, 2017
Beatrice was born November 22, 1922 in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late
Elizabeth and Tinsley Davenport. On Thursday, September 14,2017 God saw
Beatrice getting tired, a cure was not meant to be, so He put His arms around
her and whispered ... "Come With Me."
She was educated in the Virginia Public Schools.
Beatrice entered her own world at an early age when she moved to Baltimore,
Maryland. She later met William Charles Perry where out of the union of
marriage in 1951 where born five children.
Beatrice was baptized and began walking a Christian life from that point on.
She became a member of Gillis Memorial CC Church under the former
leadership of Reverend Theodore C. Jackson Sr. and Jr. where she once
served as the financial secretary of the Radio Club. She was a faithful
long-time member for over 45 years until her health no longer allowed her to
attend.
Beatrice held various jobs 111 many different house holds as a domestic
worker.
She attended training courses and received certificates of completion with the
National Council of the Boy Scouts of America, then she later became a Den
Mother at the Gilmor Homes Recreation Center. She also graduated from the
Carver Adult Vocational School after attending Home Nursing Courses.
Beatrice always seemed to have a love for those in need and she would often
assist them by going with them to doctors appointments, getting their medi-
cations, going on errands or just assisting them as needed.
Beatrice was truly a matriot. She was the youngest sibling of seven as well as
the last of her generation on both the Davenport and Perry sides of her
families.
There are many stories to be told by those who knew her especially for her
stern ways of life, her witty phrases that she forever said which would bring
a spontaneous laugh because the phrases were so comical to the listening ear,
however they did not change the serious expression that she often kept on her
face. In all of her conversations she never ever left God out. He was always
included! !
Beatrice in her 94 years of Living, became a wealth of history, knowledge and
wisdom. God kept her mind as well as her hearty appetite until He called her
home. You could ask her anything from 1922-2017 and she would make you
say "oh that's right, now I remember that."
