Beatrice Walker daughter of the late Robert and Estelle Gates,
sister of the late Doris Wright and Theophilus Gates was born on May
30,1938 in Norfolk,Virginia. Bea as she was better known as, departed
this life on July 24, 2017 after a lengthy illness.

Bea received her education both in Baltimore Catholic Schools and
Baltimore City Public School System.

After attending high school at Paul Lawrence Dunbar and several
accredited nursing programs, Bea embarked in her career at Johns
Hopkins Hospital as a RN until her retirement after 32 years of service.

Bea never had children but she considered her nieces and nephews her
children.

Bea loved to travel and often enjoyed vacationing with her niece,
Florence (Peaches).

Bea spent the last part of her time with her great niece, Kelly and her
family who made sure she was cared for and well loved.

Bea leaves to mourn: five nieces, Pennie, Florence (Peaches), Beatrice
(Bunny), Karen and Denice; two nephews, Dorian (Chip), Robert and
Monroe who preceded her in death; her best and dearest friend for over
50 years, Ruth Jackson and the husband of great niece Kelly "Neal"
and a host if other relatives and friends.
