Obituary

Benjamin Franklin Keels, son of the late Mary Ellen and James Edward Keels, was born June 16, 1939 in Greeleyville, South Carolina. He received his education at the public schools in Greeleyville, South Carolina. Benjamin departed this life on January 2, 2015. Benjamin Franklin Keels "Ben Frank" as he was affectionately called, left South Carolina at an early age. He later met and married the late Jessie Mae (Pendergrass) Keels on June 25, 1965. Benjamin workedfor Andrew's Food Company as a warehousemen, tractor trailer driver and as a supervisor untjl retirement. He served as a Masonfor several years. Ben Frank played/baseball in his youth while driving at the early age of nine. Ben Frank enjoyed dancing and listening to his blues. He especially enjoyed laughing and having fun with family and friends. Benjamin was proceeded in death by brothers, Leroy and Tom Keels; and son, David Durant. Benjamin leaves to cherish his memory: great uncle, Isiah Frierson (Rosa) of Troy, New York; six children, Willie Lee Durant, Terry Alexan- der Keels (Patricia), Lynette Gibbs (David), Juliet Keels, Lee Anders Keels (Ventura) and Frank Kevin Keels (Priscilla); nine grandchildren, Tinae, D'Metri, Kendra, Terry Jr., DeKwan, Shanell Kayla, DeVon and Dawan; two aunts, Mrs. Pearlie Mae Dukes of Clifton Park, New York and Mrs. Flora Lee Carr of Troy, New York; one uncle, Mr. Joseph Brunson (Sarah) from Philadelphia, PA; a special cousin, Sandra Mou- zon of Greeleyville, SC; two brothers-in-law, Wally Pendergrass (Evelyn) and Mathew Pendergrass (Ella Lee); one sister-in-law, Mqry Pendergrass; seven great grandchildren, nine great great grandchil- dren, a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, other relatives and dear friends (John).
