Obituary

Benjamin Hall Williams was born on December 25, 1924 to Benjamin Williams and Marie E. Byrd Williams. His mother one described him as a child who preferred to stay to himself. Little Benny, as he was called, was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System, where he trained to become a tailor. His mother and his sister Jean were both avid sewers and seamstresses. After a berief stint in the Navy, Benny married Dorothy Brooks and of this union they had a son Larry. The marriage was brief and Benny started to wander. He followed his passion- horses. Benny wanted to be a jockey but couldn't get his down. Instead he became a horse groomer and followed the races to every track on the east coast. Most of his time was spent in New York. He tended to horses for the rich, including movies actress Eve Arden. All his employers thought highly of him. In the mid 90's while living in New York, Benny took sick. His sister Doris brought him home to Baltimore, Maryland. He continued to decline in health and reted in the nursing home. He departed this life on July 3, 2010. Benny was preceded in death by; his parents, brothers, Clarence and Robert Uncle Man; his sisters, Doris Wade and Jean Lewis. He leaves to mourn; his brother, Ralph; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews. He was particularly fond of his nieces, Karen Williams, Barbara English and Patricia ball.
