Bennie Frank Darden, cherished and beloved son of the late Frank and Mattie Darden, was born on June 20, 1925 in South Hampton County, Virginia. He attended and gratuated from Courtland High School in Courtland, Virginia. After graduation, he enlist in the United States Navy, he married his one and only true love, the former Rosa Lewis in 1946. This loving marriage endured for sixty-five years until his recent passing. "Baby", as Rosa often called him enjoyed watching baseball, listening to the music of his younger especially Etta James and Ray Charles, and taking walks. He also was adamant about keeping abreast of the daily news broadcast. Bennie also enjoyed being in the company of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In 1957, he relocated his growing family to Baltimore, where he began employment at the formerly known Sweetheart Cup Corporation. He remained there for thiry-five years until his retirement in 1991. Bennie Frank had the proud distinction of being absent from work only one time in thirty-five years of employment at the same company. Bennie Frank was a hard working, quiet and kind soul, who truly put his wife and family first. The same caring that he showed his children, he also exhibited to all children that came into his presence. Bennie accepted God early in his life. When he initiially relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, his first Christian home where he worshipped was Jones Tabernacle Church. In his later years, he contined his Christian worship and tried to live his remaining years as a Christian faithfully. Bennie Frank Darden had battles many illness in the last sixteen years, however, despite the infirmities that would have made the average person give up and lie down, eh kept going. He leaves behind to continue living him; Rosa, his devoted wife; his four daughters, Joyce Darden, Grail Paige, Frances Johnson, and Rose Darden-McDaniels; one brother, Stewart Flythe, son-in-law, Benjamin Paige; sister-in-law, Beatrice Flyth, Dorothy Flythe, Barbara Suiter, and Shirley Poole; grandchildren Mark, Toni, and Damian; great grandchildren, Shydai, Nate, McKinsey, Derek, and Autumn; special and devoted friends, Ricardo Martin, Brother William Holley, and Sam Johnson; and a host of other friends and relatives, Although we all may not be able to see his calm face in the life anymore, we have Jesus' promise of seeing him again in th next.
